How to Calculate Weight and Volumetric Dimensions

The formulas below reflect general industry standards. Final chargeable weight is subject to carrier terms.

Certain carriers use specific divisors (e.g. JNE JTR and J&T Cargo calculate volumetric weight using a 5,000 divisor). Always review minimum chargeable weights and formula terms.

Air example: a 60 × 50 × 40 cm box equals 20 kg volumetric weight (divisor 6,000). If actual weight is 12 kg, the billable weight will be 20 kg.
LCL example: 120 × 100 × 100 cm = 1.2 CBM.

Air Freight Regulated & Dangerous Goods Acceptance

Dangerous Goods cannot be dispatched via passenger aircraft or standard air courier without formal declaration. Regulated items include flammable materials, compressed gas/aerosols, corrosives, oxidizers, toxic substances, radioactive materials, lithium batteries/power banks, and certain liquids or powders.

Specialized Air Cargo transport is available for regulated items meeting proper packaging, IATA/CASR classification, and airline acceptance criteria.

Reweighing, Remeasuring, and Surcharges

Carriers reweigh and remeasure all packages at depot intake. If physical measurements differ from the initial booking, chargeable weight will be updated. Additional surcharges may apply for overweight items, oversized cargo, remote delivery zones, or non-stackable freight.

Weigh and measure your goods after final packaging to ensure quotation accuracy.
